Soprano Ksenija Celner was born in 1984. She started her musical education at age of eight and she played violin successfuly for six years. Following the advice and encouragement from her professors in music school, she started taking voice lessons at the age of fifteen. In 1999 she entered The First Belgrade Classical Gymnasium and obtained Diploma in Humanities and Social Sciences in 2003. In the same year, she entered Belgrade University and went on studying archaeology. During those years, she had published several scientific works and become valuable member of several projects of international significance (she is the expert for pottery studies). Nevertheless, she had never neglected her music studies. She performed as a soloist all over the country. In 2005. she has been selected from the Swedish Embassy in Serbia to sing and perform Santa Lucia at the celebration of their biggest national holiday. In 2007. she participated in a master class held by Serbian Prima Donna Katarina Jovanović, and has been offered to continue her vocal studies with Miss Jovanović. Ksenija has obtained Performance Diploma in Voice in June 2008, as a top rated student in Music School ’Jovan Bandur’, Pančevo. In the season 2008/9 she sang as a member of National Philharmonic Chorale, DC, as well as with National Philharmonic Singers.

Ksenija has always held a very special interest for baroque music, even though in Serbia, the early music scene is virtualy non-existed. Nevertheless, she insisted to explore the richesses of baroque music repertoire, and after few years, she became well known for her versatility, knowledge and interpretation in Serbia.

The year 2009. has brought many concerts for Ksenija. As a part of “Duo Bellezza” with pianist Nevena Račić, she has enrolled in a national tour performing vocal chamber music rarities.

In 2009. she has been invited by prof. Stojanovi ć , the President of Studio for Early Music, Serbia’s leading early music society, to participate in series of concert held in nation’s capital, Belgrade. She performed with great public success works by Handel and Campra.

Ksenija has been chosen personally by Dame Emma Kirkby to participate in her exclusive master class in Dartington, England in 2009. Being very talented young musician, she also received a full scholarship from Serbian government for her attendance on dame Emma’s master class.

The season 2009/2010. brings many new and exciting performances for Ksenija.

With her ensemble “Mondo Barocco’ she will perform several premier performances of baroque music in Serbia. She is scheduled to perform also renaissance music with ensemble "VisAntiqua" and "Flauto Dolce". Being also one of the founders and president of the first Chamber Music Society in Serbia (Ars Lirica), she will hold a series of concerts featuring songs of German, French, Spanish, American and Serbian composers. Many of these beautiful works will be premiered.

For the season 2010/2011. she has been casted for the role of Emira in Handel’s opera “Siroe, rè di Persia” which is to be performed in the United States with New Trinity Baroque.

Miss Celner is a restless, striving young musician who is constantly seeking for improvment.
